Yes of course I had to comment on this....
I find it shocking that the Republicans now find teenage pregnancy not only acceptable but something to celebrate. This is not an abortion issue, this is a personal responsibility issue.
Granted teenage pregnancy happens everyday and most who are honest about that experience will not say it is a good thing. I am not trying to judge pregnant teens. Of course I am a liberal so, I have zero issue with this, but how can the Republican's all of a sudden find this all okay??? I figure we all have done things as teenagers that we wish we hadn't, but come on, should we encourage teenage pregnancy?
Are they now saying that it is "cool" for teens to get pregnant?
If McCain and Palin are elected, what parent could possibly tell their teenager to wait until you are mature enough to understand the consequences before you decide to have sex? I can hear it now, "Well the VP's daughter didn't and it was not only okay but cool, I want to be like her." Then the parental "if everyone else was jumping off the cliff would you follow?"
If they are elected, teenage pregnancy will skyrocket. Is this the moral leadership the Republicans offer now? Family Values and all that.
Does anyone remember Dan Quail's comments about Murphy Brown and the unwed mother thing?
No more on the Palin's at the moment.
